Spring Arbour Farm's Community Supported Agriculture program (C.S.A) is back again for 2008. Our renovation program last year was successful, creating new gardens and an irrigation pond. New neighbours and local conservation organizations have ensured that we have a clean water supply and a healthy growing environment by buying properties along our Venison Creek and either restoring habitat or converting to crops other than tobacco. With the help of some of Spring Arbour Farm's clients the Long Point Basin Land Trust has just purchased the source of Venison Creek for perpetual protection.
The cost of fuel has skyrocketed so we will be delivering only organic produce from our own farm. In the past we filled out our produce with meat, eggs and fruit from five other farms, some as far as 100km away, but this has become uneconomical. We will no longer carry frozen items like meat. It is now illegal to grow and sell free range chickens and eggs. Instead, we have increased the number of heirloom fruits and vegetables that are grown at Spring Arbour Farm and will deliver them at their peak of ripeness, not according to a prefixed schedule. We will still deliver our organic compost, seeds, transplants and a wide selection of our own preserves. Our fresh culinary herbs and cut flowers will also be available.
Our delivery area is the old City of Toronto (from Lakeshore to the 401, Islington to Victoria Park) and the County of Norfolk.
To get notices of deliveries, please reply by email with your name, address, postal code, phone number and email address.. To open an account, please send a $100 non refundable deposit, on or before the first delivery in late May. (Cheques are made payable to Spring Arbour Farm and sent to Spring Arbour Farm, RR1, 305 N. S. Walsingham Townline, Walsingham, Ontario, N0E 1X0 ) Your orders will be deducted from the $100 deposit but there will be no refund at the end of the year. By signing up as a member you are committing to buying at least $100 of produce in 2008. There is a minimum order of $30.00 per delivery. You can order less but will be charged a delivery fee to bring the order to $30.00. If we do not have sufficient supply to fill your order, you will only be charged for the goods delivered. We will send out an email several days before a delivery and will only deliver what you order by return email. There is no default delivery or Family Basket. If you do not place an order, we will not delivery to you.
We look forward to providing you and your family with our fresh, organic, wholesome food in 2008.
